Sarah Mueller serves as a Disability Policy Director to the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, where she advises Ranking Member Sanders on disability policy matters across the Committee’s jurisdiction including on the Americans with Disabilities Act, Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, and Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as well as, health disparities, supplemental security income and social security disability insurance, and much more. Previously, she was a disability policy advisor on the Committee for Chair Patty Murray. Sarah began her time on the Committee as the Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. Foundation Public Policy Fellow. Previously, she was the Disability Policy Fellow at the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) where she worked on federal policy and legislative issues that impact people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Before joining AUCD, Sarah worked at the Institute on Disabilities at Temple University while earning a Masters in Public Policy and graduate certificate in Disability Studies. Sarah earned a Bachelors in Special Education from Eastern Michigan University, and taught high school students with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Rochester Hills, MI. As a sibling to a sister with an intellectual disability, Sarah has a passionate dedication to serving and advancing policies for people with disabilities.
