Overview
The National Down Syndrome Congress (NDSC) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to an improved world for individuals with Down syndrome. Founded in 1973, we are the leading national resource of support and information about Down syndrome, from the moment of diagnosis, whether prenatal or at birth, through adulthood.
We provide support and resources from infancy to adulthood. The NDSC is an organization led by individuals with and without Down syndrome, working together for a better future for all.
Our founding families set out with the purpose of promoting the interests of people with Down syndrome and their families through advocacy, public awareness, and information. We have worked for the past fifty years to foster a network of local and regional groups across the country to support and embrace the thousands of people with Down syndrome, their families, and the professionals who support them. We set out to reshape how people understand and experience Down syndrome and create a world that provides equal rights and opportunities. What we did was create a better world.
